If you have been waiting for the next Green Card Lottery registration, you probably have a few questions: When will applications open? Will a passport be required? Does your previous photo still qualify? And if you registered with us last time, do you need to start afresh?

📅 When does DV-2027 registration open?

The dates to watch are October 29 and November 1, 2026, following a court order concerning the DV-2027 registration process.

October 29 is the deadline for announcing registration details, while November 1 is the deadline for opening registration. Watch for the official U.S. Department of State announcement confirming the actual application window and instructions.

🛂 What about the passport requirement?

Passport requirements have been a major topic of discussion surrounding DV-2027. Applicants should check the final official instructions to confirm the requirements that will apply when registration opens.

If you do not yet have a passport, this is a good time to start preparing rather than waiting until the last minute.

📸 Does your DV photo still qualify?

Remember, your Green Card Lottery photograph must meet specific requirements, including the correct dimensions, background, facial expression and image quality.

Your photograph must also reflect your current appearance and have been taken within the last six months. If you registered with Keyame Media previously, your old photo may no longer qualify for a new entry.
